Guitars and basses are wood instruments, and wood expands and contracts with changes in humidity and temperature. Here in NY, our climate fluctuates throughout the year, moving the wood of the instrument. Regular setups and adjustments ensure your instrument plays as great as it can.

When wood dries out, especially the thin woods of acoustic guitars, violins, and archtops, it shrinks and cracks. That doesn't mean it's the end of the line for your instrument. Acoustic guitar saddles, like nuts, need to be fitted to each individual guitar for proper playability and intonation. A majority of acoustic guitar saddles are also made of plastic, inhibiting vibration transfer to the top. A new saddle made of hard bone will last longer and help your guitar sound better.
